To celebrate the anniversary of last year’s Tour de France, and revive the feeling of celebration that filled the district, Harrogate will host a family festival weekend of cycle related activities and spectacle this June 19th – 21st.
Competitive and leisurely cycle events will take to the roads on both Saturday and Sunday of the weekend, while on Harrogate’s famous Stray a lively Event Village will feature entertainment, a cycle show and refreshments from the evening of the 19th.
On Saturday 20th June a closed road racing circuit will be created around the town centre, for the first time in a generation, finishing with the same piece of road on Parliament Street that saw all the drama last year.
Elite teams from around the country will battle along this tricky course, in what is known as a Criterium Race; short exciting action packed laps where spectators will see riders pass many times.
