The Woodfield Millennium Green (Millie Green) on Cecil Street, Bilton has been transformed in 3 years from a neglected field to a productive and beautiful community garden for everyone to enjoy.
Adults and children alike are welcome to join the work parties there at 10 am on Saturday mornings, to contribute to the compost heaps, to pick the fruit and vegetables in season and to explore the wild “biodiversity” area.
Or you can just sit and enjoy the bee-friendly flowerbeds, and maybe picnic and play games in the living willow cabin.
This year the people of Woodfield are organising MILLIE’s GARDEN PARTY, a family picnic day on Sunday 24 August, starting at 11 am. Everyone is invited to bring along their picnic with rugs or chairs, and to join in the treasure hunt and other games. There will be free hot and cold drinks, and home-made cakes.
This should be a lovely day out and all are welcome. Millie Green will be buzzing – and not just with the bees!
